Hi, I’m Becca
I’m a product manager living in Austin, Texas. My undergraduate degree is in computer science (Carnegie Mellon), and I have a Master’s in Engineering Management (UT Austin). I have always loved math and technology, and I realized during college that my favorite part of computer science was explaining the ‘why’ of the problems. Along with that, I found fulfillment in activities requiring a lot of empathy and business acumen, such as being a Resident Assistant, giving tours on campus, and planning campus concerts. Looking back, it makes sense that I ended in product management, where we get to help define and communicate the ‘why’ of our products.
In my spare time, you can find me walking around Lady Bird Lake, at a central Texas winery, or playing with dogs. I was involved as a volunteer with AnitaB.org (TEF) for multiple years, helping plan programming for diversity and inclusion initiatives at the Grace Hopper Celebration; I strongly care about increasing inclusivity and retention of underrepresented groups in technology workplaces. In the past I’ve also been involved in the music community, as a SXSW volunteer, while planning concerts at CMU, and as a music technology minor.
